Waveform (formerly known as Tracktion)
I´m using this “Digital Audio Workstation” (DAW) since the first version. I know everybody is talking about the big Players like Pro Tools, Cubase, etc. but I promise Waveform is worth a look. If you´re looking for a easy intuitive piece of software that supports your creativity whenever it strikes you Waveform is a wonderful helper. As a marketing person I was and still am impressed about the single page user interface concept. Nearly everything happens in the main windows and you can raise your speed and productivity with just a couple of keyboard shortcuts.

But a worldclass DAW on its own is nothing without a good set of instruments (plugins). My main tool to record ideas rapidly within minutes is the product EZDrummer from Toontrack. In each band I played or in any other musical situation I found myself I was always “connected” to the drummer, because the quality of my playing is somehow related to the quality of the drummer I play with. Therefore I was really happy when I found EZDrummer being such a brilliant tool and natural sounding virtual drum mate. Check it out!
