Starfield Cabriolet American Special – Sold
(Addition 07/2016 – I received an email with an offer for this guitar that I couldn´t refuse.) 

The guitar is in original condition. The USA line is high-end line, manufactured in the Ibanez Custom Shop California factory somewhere in the 90s. This guitar´s motto: “Use the best of both worlds” means typical Fender and Gibson characteristics are combined in this masterpiece: Starfield was planned to be the high end line but never became a successful business model. I remember me standing in front of the shop window of the most famous music shop in town – Earny´s Music each day on my way back from school. Earny had two Starfields haging on the wall and nearly 20 years later I owned my first Starfield.

Two years later I called several starfield guitars my own and was looking for an original set of humbuckers to replace brocken HBs in another guitar. I found them on ebay, made an appointment with that guy and visited him the other day. When I entered his house he showed me this guitar and an electric drill. I tried hard to hide my excitement and asked him what he was planning to do. His father gave him this guitar years ago but he never really started playing. He had no idea what kind of guitar this is and he expected nobody would buy it – therefore he offered all parts on ebay. I was the first buyer and was able to buy the whole guitar for a great Price.

In the 25 years that I have been playing guitar, I maybe owned 2 – 3 guitars like this one. Such a transparent, defined Sound is extremely rare, also for this class of instruments. This guitar tough me that you sometimes should have some experience, because guitars like this glossed over nothing … but once mastered it plays the same time by itself. Take care, stenson
